Owner/founder

Robert Dunton

Robert began his career with the U.S. Forest Service as a smokejumper in Montana, completing 78 jumps, including 40 on active fires—an experience that built the foundation for his lifelong commitment to safety and leadership.

He went on to serve over 30 years in the Army National Guard, holding key leadership roles including Battalion Commander and Brigade Commander, with deployments supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Joint Guardian. He also led emergency response efforts during domestic operations, including hurricane relief in Louisiana.

Robert earned a B.S. in Forestry from Utah State University and is a graduate of the U.S. Army War College.

Following his military career, he worked as a Safety Officer for the U.S. Air Force at Hill Air Force Base, specializing in OSHA compliance, safety training, and facility inspections.

Since 2018, Robert has been an OSHA Authorized Outreach Trainer in both Construction and General Industry. As the owner of Highway 89 Safety and Environmental LLC, he provides OSHA training, site inspections, and safety consulting services throughout the Mountain West.
